    Hello Food Systems Leaders!

Tomorrow, The Wallace Center is launching a new Community of Practice to share in co-learning and knowledge about farm to food assistance programs happening around the country. Myself and Eva Agudelo from Farm Fresh Rhode Island have been tapped to facilitate. In tomorrow’s opening session we plan to introduce ourselves, give an overview of the topic, as well as solicit input from attendees about how you’d like this space to be shaped. Our hope is to create a meeting space that is interactive and filled with opportunities to learn from and connect with food system leaders from all over.

In between meetings, myself and Eva will use this discussion board to post follow-ups and over time hopefully build an archive of useful resources. The meetings themselves will not be recorded, but this space will always be open to ask questions, pose ideas, and share information.

In the spirit of that, here is an article that came out today about Medically Supportive Food Programs and Food as Medicine interventions. Take a look at the article to see if your state is one where Medicaid might pay for a healthy farm box or prescribe vouchers at the local farmers’ market.

We look forward to seeing you tomorrow!
