    Hello everyone –

I wanted to follow up on a previous post because some of the information I was working on was not entirely accurate.

From my understanding, USDA has not explicitly directed state agencies to terminate or pause their LFPA programs. They have simply said they cannot comment on anything. If this is not the case for your state agency, please let me know.

NSAC is monitoring and analyzing this policy freeze across multiple agencies at USDA. And after discussion with our Deputy Policy Director I wanted to share the following. Since there has not been an explicit directive to terminate or pause implementation of LFPA, any delay or gaps in implementation of your agreement could actually be used as a rationale from USDA to terminate your agreement. Essentially, if you are not in compliance of implementing according to plan, etc.

We also think a way to ensure this is all documented is to send an email to your program officer that states something in the realm of : since we have not been notified of a termination or directed to pause, we will continue to implement LFPA as described in our agreement until further notice.

Happy for us to keep this thread going in the discussion board!

    Hannah
