Palletizing bins

Hi group, does anyone have experience palletizing stacks of plastic bins? We use rectangular milk crates, and I want to move them on pallets by destination. I have found a couple of options to stabilize stacks of crates but I’m not totally satisfied with the concepts. Does anyone have any other ideas besides these? I really like the idea of the compression cap but can’t find a good source for a 48×40 version… sometimes these specialty things get weird…

This velcro wrap idea could work but it only attaches to the pallet with two little velcro straps – strong enough? https://www.thecarycompany.com/pallet-wraps-6-straps

This pallet cover with compression straps looks promising, but again, possibly shipping from UK, seems complicated: https://www.genteso.com/en/loadhog-pallet-cover-1202x801x118.html

I’ve also seen a 3 sided pallet box/bin that you could potentially strap stacks of pallets to, but not as effective seeming as the above two options.

    Any cool ideas out there?

    Thanks,

    Ole

And here is what we went with – Loadhogs. So far the function seems like it’s a perfect fit. I haven’t done stacks with actual weight in them, so we’ll see but I believe it will work well. We got two 4-strap models and two 2-strap models. They were $200 and $140 respectively. I believe the 4 strap version is better and stronger, but I haven’t tried the 2 strap ones yet. You can upgrade the 2 strap ones to 4 strap by ordering the retracting units separately. Company was really nice to deal with, and they paid shipping. This invention is pretty new to the US and although other ‘seatbelt’ pallet caps exist, they are typically sized for auto parts pallets which are 45×48 as I learned. I should note that these are very easy to place and attach – it takes like a minute or less to pull out the straps, hook them, and ratchet them down. Way better than plastic wrap.
