Looking for recall plans or examples for a network instead of single operation
Hi All,
We are discussing how to protect buyers, stakeholders and farmers in the event of a food safety incident or recall involving our state’s Farm to Institution program. We recognize that individual farmers can be hurt by recalls and want to support their preparedness in our role as trainers and technical assistants. We also see that the program or its stakeholders could be affected, and are looking to implement some strategic planning around food incident response. This has an internal component for training, resources & supplier policies, and an external component for disseminating information, managing brand image & press, etc.
Does anyone know of a recall plan for a network of suppliers offering multiple food types? Are there recall forms that umbrella organizations require farmers to use? Do you know of examples of organizations with staff dedicated to managing network incidents or corrective actions?
We’d love to hear from you with information or discuss on the next CoP call.
Valerie Smith,
Lead Trainer
