Hi Everyone!
I’m thinking of hosting a convening to bring together Farmers/Growers and Buyers.(Retailers, Restaurants, Aggregators) In the past we hosted a Chef to Market event where we invited chefs around town to our farmers markets to network, talk, and make business connections. The turnout and outcome for the event were a bit of a flop.
I would love to hear if any of you have had experience with creating this type of, Buyer/Grower, convening and how your event turned out.

I have organized a small version of that, about 10 producers/growers, connecting with retail employees. The producers were so excited to teach and talk about their products and produce but it was a challenge to get a lot of employees there. When I reflected on it I didn’t feel like we really ‘sold’ why the event would be worth their time. I recently went to a training that talked about a simple and quick formula to sell the ROI: A one sentence description + the problem that you are solving + how you/your event/your team can solve that problem + some sort of statistic or number + contact and follow-up info.
