I’m running the operations of a small food hub. We aggregate lots of small amounts of food from many local producers. All of our producers are too small to use lot codes and we’re not set up to receive palettes. Often I receive less than a case of something from a producer: 12 bunches of chard, 3 pounds of garlic, etc. To complicate things further, much of our inventory gets aggregated and taken to communities in our mobile market.
Anyone here have any thoughts on flexible inventory systems (analog or digital) that could help? What do you use? What works about your system?
