Two-part series on Cultivating Freedom and Collaborative Change in the Nonprofit Industrial Complex
Solidarity in Action Cultivating Freedom and Collaborative Change in the Nonprofit Industrial Complex We are very excited to offer this incredible two-part series with Rested Root facilitators amani and damaris! Join us from November 12-14th as we break down how the 501c(3) nonprofit structure was designed to infiltrate and undermine social movements, and what we can do to foster meaningful change. We will examine how power, privilege and oppression manifest within nonprofits both through the micro-lens of our own intersectional experience as well as the macro-lens of capitalism and systemic racism. In order to get free from the powers that be, we also will be exploring creative strategies for transforming oppressive dynamics and deepening solidarity and accountability in our collaborations. In addition to the two workshops in this series, amani and damaris will offer Office Hour sessions on Thursday, November 14th. You must attend at least ONE workshop in this series to attend an Office Hour. Information on how to register for Office Hours will be provided during the workshops. Register here for one or both of these workshops!
