Hey y’all, we’re excited to have another call next week where we dive more into the topic of sourcing and partnering with BIPOC growers. Hope to see you next Thursday!

In other news, take a listen if you have time to this NPR story about one of our partners and Medically Tailored Meals. Though this project doesn’t call out local food in particular, we know that there is growing interest in this space and believe it presents a rich opportunity for local food systems to grow into.

The group in the story, Project Open Hand, in addition to a meal program also has a box project. Though not a traditional “food assistance” program, it is similar in operations and outcomes. We are working with POH to direct their sourcing as much as they are able to our local food system.

As these projects proliferate around the country, I think it is important that we all monitor what’s going on in our states and tap into opportunities when we see them!

    See you all next week!
