  Talk to your dept of ag about the Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure program!

  Hey y’all,

  Sharing an exciting new funding program from USDA– the Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure cooperative agreement! RFSI will use non-competitive cooperative agreements to provide up to $420 million to states and territories to make competitive subawards for infrastructure in the middle of the supply chain for domestic food and farm businesses and other eligible entities. States and territories can also use funds to develop and/or strengthen supply chain coordination and targeted market development services for local and regional products. You can learn more from USDA here.

  State and territorial governments have until August 23rd to develop and submit their plans for outreach, monitoring and evaluation, and project design and management. This means that lots of state and territorial departments of agriculture are holding listening sessions and seeking input NOW to sort out how they are going to design this grant program and disburse the funding. If you haven’t already, we highly recommend coordinating with your food systems partners and reaching out to your state/territorial department of ag (or whichever governmental entity is responsible for agriculture where you live) to make sure that the plan integrates your priorities and your voice.
