LFPA: Any states been audited?
Hello lovely food hubs!
California’s LFPA allocation is currently in the process of closing out, and we’re hoping to learn from other LFPA administrators about any audit experiences along the way.
Have any states been audited by USDA or another administering agency in relation to LFPA? If so, we’d love to hear about the process, including what documentation was requested and the process of the audit.
In particular, we’re interested in whether any states were audited regarding farmer Socially Disadvantaged (SD) status and how you documented or verified that status. Did you collect signed self-certifications, use another form of attestation, or rely on a different process altogether?
Any insights, lessons learned, recommendations, or examples of documentation would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
