butcher paper as liner

Hi all, I have a question about using butcher paper as a liner in wax boxes. If it is new paper and covering all walls of the box, is this sufficient as a liner to reuse the box or does it have to be a food grade plastic liner? Thank you!

    Hey Anita!

Just now seeing this, I don’t know why it didn’t send me a notification.

My thought on using butcher paper would be the permeability of it. If there’s any moisture in the box, would the paper become an ineffective barrier? That being said, it’s certainly better than nothing, especially if we’re talking lower-risk crops.

That’s my 2 cents, anyway. Hopefully this will ping others and they can chime in as well!
