  Please join the NC Fresh Produce Safety Task Force for our Annual Produce Safety Professionals Conference at the NCA&T Farm Pavilion in Greensboro on December 12, 2023 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

  If you are in the NC area, this one day conference will expand your knowledge on the legal aspects of food safety regulations when growing and selling produce and other value added products. The audience will gain an understanding of the interplay of federal and state law and regulations in the area of produce safety, what happens in the event a farm or facility is involved in an official regulatory action (such as recalls, outbreak investigations) and how to put in place mitigation strategies to protect your farm and/or business.

  We strongly encourage growers, market managers, food hubs, CSA’s, roadside stand operators, small food distributors, consultants and extension agents to attend.

  Summary: The audience will gain an understanding of the interplay of federal and state law and regulations in the area of produce safety as it relates to farms, farmers markets, food hubs, roadside stands and small-scale food distribution. The program will emphasize steps managers can take to mitigate risk. The audience should be able to recommend produce safety mitigation strategies to management, oversight boards and stakeholders and will gain understanding of what happens in the event they are involved in an official regulatory action.
